No new ground here

This is pretty run of the mill puzzler, nothing really stands out here to make this better than any other puzzler. The engine is pretty solid but sometimes the car rotates a bit randomly, and you can have some other strange things happen that could be sorted out with a little longer spent on the coding.
Quite relaxing, but could have done with just something to make it jump out and cross 200,000 views, like a bit more challenge, a bit of humor, or a marginally less random thing to be doing it with (a car? With vertical nitrous?).

And the preloader is cool, but alas please don't have sound in it, save that for when the game is fully loaded.
Speaking of which, change the song every 5 levels or something to add some variety.

Just a sequel

I didn't notice the game could be controlled until I'd completed the whole thing and gone back to the start with the uber-bang weapon...

A nice sequel, but it's doing the EA Games thing of updating it a little and putting out a sequel. I'd really like to see a rebuild of this from scratch, with really interesting and tactical weapons. At the moment there is always a weapon and another weapon that is better; it'd be great to see ones that compliment each other. Also, AI that you can set pre-match would be nice.

Less luck plz

The luck based ones ruin this, all the strange logic/problem solving without them would have been much better. Then we might be able to complete it without losing all our lives each time we encounter a random one. All the ones like 42 and the elephants are awesome.

Ok

I lol at the person calling this Chinese propaganda. Why shouldn't a Chinese plane be able to shoot down American ones?

The difficulty is really well done, because if you are losing a few times you get to upgrade and have a better chance.
The graphics were pretty good, realistic as flash is going to get.

The gameplay was rather boring though, as the plane moved far far too slowly taking the skill out of the game, and there was very little original here to make it defined from better games like Raiden X or whatever.

And for anyone struggling with stickeykeys, just hold shift ;)

Shame it's using the portal

It's a pity this is only allowed to use the portal's music, because frankly there is very little in there that's half as cool as Soil, Nirvana, Nickelback, or anything else that's licensed. But you could have minimised the problem by biasing the randomness towards the ratings, so things that are rated 4.25 are played more than stuff at 1. Also, the inability to limit genres is a real shame, it's clear that the selection process is based solely on the number and zero else. You could double how useful this is if you made the selection process better. I think I'll stick to last.fm for now.

EON responds:

Firstly, the whole point of this is to showcase the audio portal, not to provide just another radio broadcasting licensed music. Also this system doesn't allow searching by genre/artist etc. It just loads the sing by track ID.

Reminds me of a football manager game

This is pretty cool, and amusing. But the subject matter is gold, why is it tackled so blandly? Not a whiff of humor in here; what am I destroying the human population for if not for a laugh?

Real shame, nicely presented but with the imagination of a goldfish, particularly with there being just one way to win.

Sketchy car handling

"Now beat it in impossible!"
Um, I just did... That message should change.

The car handling was kind of crappy, I'm currently making a car game and though the car's handling isn't quite done yet, the steering and rotation and all that stuff is better than this's.
And there were a couple of other rigged things, like how the bombs explode long before you touch them and much much further away than you can splat a person from, and along with that, the people don't detonate them so you have to wait for them to get away from it!
The health felt fairly pointless, because no-one's gonna ram a spike 5 times in one level.

But other than that, this is ok, though the art is better than the gameplay.

Ok...

It's a sweet game, I love his little walk. It's clearly for under 10s, somewhere about there, but there's no harm in someone older playing it. However, some of the words are more hard to pronounce than spell ("diner"), so it should either use some pronounciation guide or just have a better selection of words that would be considered hard to spell. And though it would have probably made the game engine a lot more complicated, simply put I think it needs words going from 4 - 10 letters, not just 5. I also hope should you ever add to this that you make a better difficulty curve, because there felt very little difference between any level after "games". I want a bit of a challenge, make completing the game feel better. I also want endless pits

It's a solid game, but feels more produced to demand than that you had a revolutionary idea and tried to push boundaries.

I'm fine with demos

I'm fine with playing just a demo, because you'll be wanting a little reward for your hard work, and even if it is just a demo it is still a free time wasting activity.

The graphics were good, though I prefer completely flash drawn stuffs. It had it's own style, but as others have pointed out it is scientifically pretty bad. But it's a game, not a science lesson. The gameplay itself is what you should be selling on though, and it felt rather so-so. Well made, but just lacking any thrill factor. This was worsened by the sounds; I'd be happy to load another 300kb for background music. It's about a 7 overall really, but you get a bonus point because so many people are taking away points because it's a demo.

Pretty cool

I spent quite a lot of time on this because I can do it while doing work when the sound is off, so I feel I ought to review by now (I've completed it entirely).

Firstly, it is a good game, if a little luck based. When watching a battle I was sometimes cringing at how some were wondering off while a weaker one was getting pummelled nearby. The first one you encounter with the two plasma laser things is far too hard, you have to pray that any healer you might have equiped stays back, and not only that but once they've stayed back not go through the gap between the others. Some serious changes to the AI should be made so the user can select how the robot decides who to fire at out of who is in range. Plus, a little more work on how they drive towards the opponent is needed, so that they don't sit behind a fallen bot or wonder the wrong direction. Maybe a little mouse interaction could be done, so that the nearest bot follows your mouse when it's held down.

Another thing that irritated me was how some opponents simply had weapons you could only dream of. They should be more tactical as you go along, rather than simply much more powerful than you. Some guidance as to what you're going to be up against so you can plan accordingly would be good too, rather than wasting 5000 to find out you're against something that it'll take a lot of luck to beat.

Those are just niggles though, as a general this game is well made and good. Just the utter lack of control during battles, not even tactically, means this needs some better AI.

Someone else mentioned having the game keep crashing around level 4, well that happened to me too, I found going to it's mirror on gamegecko stopped it doing it entirely.

Kester thinks it makes him look intelligent to talk in third person.
